1. The Village of Louisville is seeking qualified bids for the Kincaid Building Demolition & Site Work. Sealed Bids will only be received until 2:00 P.M., prevailing time, on Thursday, April 14, 2005, in the office of the Village Clerk, Village of Louisville. All bids will be publicly opened and read after the specified closing time.

2. Bids shall be enclosed in a sealed envelope endorsed "Attn: Village Clerk of the Village of Louisville, KINCAID BUILDING DEMOLITION & SITE WORK."

3. The proposed project is officially known as the KINCAID BUILDING DEMOLITION & SITE WORK, inside the Village of Louisville. The work consist of demolition and removal of the Kincaid Building located at 110 South Church Street and other miscellaneous work. Paramount in the removal and demolition of the Kincaid Building is the protection and future stability of the Genealogical Building and its common wall to the south.

4. Not less than the prevailing hourly wage, as determined by the Illinois Department of Labor for Clay County, shall be paid for any part of the work, or the contractor shall comply with the Village of Louisville Prevailing Wage Ordinance in effect at the time of the work insofar as it may apply..

5. The Method of Payment shall be a Lump Sum Fee plus costs associated with contract unit prices, if any.

6. Specifications and bidding documents may be obtained at the Architect\Engineers's office by depositing $25.00 cash or check for each set.

7. Bid bonds will be required. Bidders shall not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, creed, or national origin.

8. The successful Bidder shall furnish a Performance Bond and a Labor & Material Payment Bond each in an amount equal to 100% of the contract price. The bonds shall be filed with the Village of Louisville prior to the successful contractor being issued the Notice to Proceed.

9. The owner reserves the right to waive technicalities or to reject any or all bids. The awarded bid will be accepted by Resolution of the Village Board of Trustees. Acceptance will be based on the lowest responsible bidder. The construction period will commence with the date of Notice of Award and shall be substantially complete within 45 consecutive calendar days thereafter.

10. A Pre-bid Meeting will be held on Monday, April 4, 2005 at 10:00 A.M. at the project site (110 South Church Street; Louisville, Illinois). Interested parties should meet in front of the building along Church Street.
